Soccer Recap: Jersey Village Comes Up Short

Jersey Village managed to keep up with Memorial until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Jersey Village Falcons lost 3-0 to the Memorial Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 144th).

Jersey Village has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. The win (which was Memorial's third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Coming up, Jersey Village will face off against Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stratford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Memorial likes a good challenge.
