Volleyball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial entered their game against Roseville on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Centennial took Roseville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 20-18.

When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost, don't look at Denver Hogberg. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two assists. McKenna Manthey also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Roseville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Centennial will host Andover at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Roseville and Cretin-Derham Hall will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
