After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Freeman brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past the J.R. Tucker Tigers 50-0 on Friday. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Tigers are ranked 310th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win snapped Freeman's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for J.R. Tucker, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Freeman is set to take on their familiar foe Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mavericks 13, the Vikings 11) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, J.R. Tucker will square off against rival Hermitage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
