Volleyball Recap: Ougust Deveaux and Emily Burgos Secure Win for Savannah Athletic Association

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Veritas Academy, Savannah Athletic Association was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against Trinity Christian by a score of 3-1.

Savannah Athletic Association had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-19.

Savannah Athletic Association was led to victory by Emily Burgos and Ougust Deveaux. Burgos had ten digs and five aces, while Deveaux had eight blocks. Those five aces gave Burgos a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Savannah Athletic Association was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. They served 15 more aces than Trinity Christian's also-impressive total of 12.

Trinity Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddie Quick, who had 13 digs and two aces, and Gabby Beard, who had 24 digs and one assist. Quick is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
