Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Wildcats vs. Roswell Coyotes

Clovis has won three straight games at home, while Roswell has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Clovis Wildcats will welcome the Roswell Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Clovis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

Clovis is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hobbs just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Eagles 61-19. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Amanda De La Rosa and Kerrington Goff, who each put up six points. Katy Archey held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Roswell faced Carlsbad in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Roswell took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carlsbad.

Roswell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Clovis, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.

Clovis was able to grind out a solid win over Roswell in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 54-43. Will Clovis repeat their success, or does Roswell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
