Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sandwich

Sandwich never let their opponents score on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Harvard Hornets. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Brooklyn Marks, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Harvard off the board. Marks has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sandwich's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Cyr, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Cyr's first of the season. Kendal Petre was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Sandwich now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Harvard, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Sandwich will host Richmond-Burton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Harvard, they will venture away from home to take on Woodstock North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
