Basis extends home winning streak to nine

The Basis Yeti had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They walked away with a 70-58 win over St. Michael. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

It was another big night for Jack Engelthaler, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rowdy McGourin, who scored 17 points along with three steals.

Basis pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.78 points. As for St. Michael, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basis will challenge St. Michael at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Michael, they will head out on the road to square off against Grand Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
