Volleyball Recap: Eastern Warriors vs. Whiteoak Wildcats

Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whiteoak Wildcats. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Eastern sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 29-31, 25-21, 18-25, 16-14.

Bently Burns paced Eastern's offense, picking up 16 kills. Burns got some help from Josey Davis and her 26 assists. Raylee Brummett controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Whiteoak, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastern is set to square off against their familiar foe Peebles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Whiteoak will face off against rival Fairfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
