Baseball Recap: West Chicago Comes Up Short

West Chicago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elmwood Park Tigers.

Sam Zalak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Manny Figueroa was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

West Chicago's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Elmwood Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

While West Chicago had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
