Softball Recap: Tyngsborough Wins High-Profile Game Against Lincoln-Sudbury

Tyngsborough faced Lincoln-Sudbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Warriors 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kiley Hogan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Kristin Deschenes was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Tyngsborough pushed their record up to 10-1-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Tyngsborough will challenge Hudson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they will face off against Wayland at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln-Sudbury is facing Wayland at the right time seeing as Wayland is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
