Recap: Texas City Stingarees vs. Angleton Wildcats
The Texas City Stingarees's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 45-34 to Angleton. Texas City lost against Angleton in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-34 score last time.
Despite the loss, Texas City still got an impressive performance from Kalynn Smith, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Smith's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Sa'naii May was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Texas City has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Angleton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-15.
Texas City will take on Friendswood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Angleton, they will head out on the road to face off against Manvel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manvel will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
