Primero came tearing into Friday's match with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Hanover Hornets. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Hornets are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hanover lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Decker, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Decker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Thomas Griffin Jr. was another key player, going 6 for 7 to rack up 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Primero pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points over those games. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Primero will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Aguilar at 6:00 p.m. Primero is facing Aguilar at the right time seeing as Aguilar is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hanover, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-35 victory against Miami-Yoder on the 8th.
