Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Falls Short of Training Center Christian in the Playoffs

Trinity Christian Academy and Training Center Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Trinity Christian Academy had to settle for second. They were beaten by Training Center Christian 73-26. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caden Herd posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave Herd a new career-high in points. Khonnor Mease was another key player, putting up five points.

It was another big night for Creed Lopez, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 16 rebounds for Training Center Christian. Lopez's afternoon made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Bryan, who went 6-for-11 en route to 16 points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Trinity Christian Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Training Center Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

As for Training Center Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-38 defeat against El Dorado Christian on the 14th.
