Basketball Game Preview: Brunswick Blue Devils vs. St. Joseph Academy Jaguars

Brunswick is 0-3 against St. Joseph Academy since January of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Brunswick Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the St. Joseph Academy Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Brunswick beat Steele 52-43. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy typically has all the answers at home, but last Saturday St. Joseph Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 48-40 win over the Royals.

St. Joseph Academy's win came from a few key players Brunswick will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Morgan Wearsch, who went 5-for-11 en route to 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Melanie Alvarenga, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Brunswick's record now sits at 7-15. As for St. Joseph Academy, their record is now 13-9.

Brunswick ended up a good deal behind St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 56-37. Can Brunswick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
