Football Recap: Balmorhea Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last eight matchups, Balmorhea finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were beaten by the Klondike Cougars 74-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Having lost for the first time this season, Balmorhea fell to 8-1. As for Klondike, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

Balmorhea and Klondike should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bears will take on Sanderson at 7:30 p.m. on November 7 with a big rank advantage (51 vs. 265). Meanwhile, Klondike (ranked ninth) will meet Sands (ranked 40th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
