Football Recap: Chesnee Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Chesnee dropped to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 50-29 to the Clinton Red Devils. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Chesnee lost, don't look at Evan-Reece Lawter. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and one TD, and also threw for 147 yards and one touchdown on perfect 10-for-10 passing. Another player making a difference was Kale Thrift, who rushed for 52 yards and one score.

As for Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points over those games.

Clinton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javen Cook, who rushed for 182 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Cook has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Vance, who rushed for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.
