Baseball Recap: Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

If Russell-Tyler-Ruthton was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Falcons on Tuesday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chase Christianson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wichmann, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton will challenge Murray County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove, they will take on Mountain Lake/Comfrey at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
