Softball Recap: Madison Blue Streaks vs. Edgewood Warriors

Madison managed to slip by Edgewood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Streaks lost 7-1 to the Warriors on Wednesday. The Blue Streaks' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kara Mekulsia put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Mekulsia wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gianna LaMarco, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.
