Baseball Recap: Ridley Comes Up Short

Ridley fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Interboro on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 6-5. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Ridley got a good showing from Sean Roseberry, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Roseberry a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Brendan Soper made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. John Teehan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Ridley's record now sits at 3-2. As for Interboro, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridley will challenge Garnet Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ridley 3.6, Garnet Valley 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Interboro, they will host Academy Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy Park has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.75 runs per game on average), something Interboro will no doubt try to take advantage of.
