Baseball Recap: Bear Creek Falls to Thunderridge in First Game of Season

Bear Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the ThunderRidge Grizzlies by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Brandon Adams-Anders put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Adams-Anders was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Matt Hegerle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Ayden Brown, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Bear Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-4 victory against D'Evelyn on the 13th. As for ThunderRidge, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-3 win against Columbine on the 13th.
