Volleyball Recap: Fairlawn Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Fairlawn had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Graham Local Falcons with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Jets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ezra Alexander paced Fairlawn's offense, picking up seven kills. Alexander got some help from Avah Roediger and her 16 assists. Alexander was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Fairlawn will host Russia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Jets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Graham Local, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Miami East on the 19th.
