             After two games on the road, Maricopa is heading back home. They will host the Mountain View Mountain Lions  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Maricopa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.3  points per game  this season.
 Maricopa is headed into the  game out to prove that what happened against Tucson High Magnet School  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Maricopa came up short against  Tucson High Magnet School, falling  34-14.
 Maricopa wouldn't let Tucson High Magnet School keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Maricopa can thank  Izaac Lopez and  Ruben White for forcing both of them. With that strong performance,  Lopez is now averaging an impressive 5.7  total tackles per game.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Mountain View). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Nogales 42-0 on the road. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
 Mountain View can attribute much of their success to   Liam Lewis, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and   Ion Brin, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave  Lewis a new career-high in  rushing yards. Another big playmaker for Mountain View was  Diego Gomez, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
 Maricopa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mountain View, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
 Maricopa was taken down by Mountain View 42-14 in their previous matchup  back in October of 2023. That  matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Maricopa was down  35-7.
