Baseball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Northwestern's offense. They lost 14-0 to the Girard Yellowjackets on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Northwestern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zac Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That hit marked the first that Johnson got this season.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Girard, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Northwestern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-4 defeat against Greenville on the 4th. As for Girard, they have also already played their next game, a 10-1 victory against Seneca on the 4th.
