Basketball Game Preview: Sam Houston Texans vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors

The Sam Houston Texans are taking a road trip to challenge the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Sam Houston saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to Andress 42-37. The Texans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The match between them and Lake Ridge didn't end well, with South Grand Prairie falling 69-54. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Eagles are ranked tenth).

Sam Houston now has a losing record at 7-8. As for South Grand Prairie, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-9.

Sam Houston was taken down by South Grand Prairie 81-48 when the teams last played back in January. Can Sam Houston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
