Basketball Recap: Mount St. Mary Academy Takes a Loss

Mount St. Mary Academy lost against Sacred Heart Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mount St. Mary Academy Thunder took a blow against the Sacred Heart Academy Sharks, falling 75-31. The Thunder were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Sacred Heart Academy was led to victory by Anna Ratchuk and Emilee Bacon. Ratchuk almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals, while Bacon dropped a double-double with 22 points and 17 boards. Bacon's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Grace Murphy was another key player, going 5-for-9 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Mount St. Mary Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Academy, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Mount St. Mary Academy has already played their next contest, a 58-33 loss against Our Lady of Mercy on the 15th. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they will head out to challenge Nardin Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Nardin Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sacred Heart Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
