Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Eagles vs. Lubbock Christian Eagles

Trinity Christian is 0-4 against Lubbock Christian since January of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Trinity Christian Eagles will square off against the Lubbock Christian Eagles at 12:30 p.m.

Trinity Christian is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 63-43 to Lake Country Christian. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 986th, while Lake Country Christian is ranked 299th).

Meanwhile, Lubbock Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by the Eagles to the tune of 58-22. Lubbock Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Lubbock Christian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Trinity Christian was dealt a bruising 61-13 loss at the hands of Lubbock Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Trinity Christian was down 52-7.
