They came out on top against Scottsdale Christian Academy by a score of 65-58. Given Gilbert Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Scottsdale Christian Academy is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gilbert Christian was led to victory by Lopemi. Omole and Jace Olson. Omole dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Olson scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Omole is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Keon Talgo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Gilbert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
Gilbert Christian will be playing at home against American Leadership Academy - Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy - Ironwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,386 points over their last 20 matches. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Pima at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
