Baseball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Mountain House Mustangs

The Patterson Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Mountain House Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Patterson will be strutting in after a victory while Mountain House will be coming in after a defeat.

Patterson took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Sierra. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Patterson saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Felipe Zavala, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another was Alonso Mercado, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mountain House was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-3 to Manteca.

Patterson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-17. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mountain House, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Patterson got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Mountain House by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
