Basketball Recap: Laton Takes a Loss

Laton lost against Parlier back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Laton Mustangs lost 58-37 to the Parlier Panthers. The Mustangs were down 46-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Laton lost, don't look at Jaythan Garcia. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Garcia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yann Jimenez, who posted six points along with five assists and four steals.

Even though they lost, Laton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Laton dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Parlier, with the victory, they broke their 21-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-7.

Laton will host Farmersville at 8:00 p.m. on December 26th. Parlier will take on Minarets in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
