Preview: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Northside Panthers
Sharpstown is on a four-game streak of home losses, Northside a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Sharpstown Apollos will take on the Northside Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sharpstown comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Sharpstown fell victim to Waltrip's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 57-0 loss at the hands of the Rams.
Meanwhile, Northside also failed to score in their most recent game. They had to suffer through a rough 72-0 loss at the hands of Ball. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1191st, while Ball is ranked 368th).
The losses dropped Sharpstown to 0-9 and Northside to 1-8.
Sharpstown strolled past Northside when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 24-6. Does Sharpstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
