Softball Game Preview: Bryant Hurricanes vs. Saraland Spartans

The Bryant Hurricanes will venture away from home to take on the Saraland Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryant has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 18.

Bryant is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Mobile Christian by a score of 10-9 on Thursday.

Madelyn Ladnier was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ida Wright also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Bryant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, while Saraland put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Blount. Saraland didn't even let Blount on the board, marking Saraland's second-straight 17-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Saraland's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Bryant, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Bryant couldn't quite finish off Saraland in their previous meeting back in February and fell 6-4. Can Bryant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
