Basketball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Chandler Wolves

Two dominant guards in Danica Lindemann and Markayla Shirley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Shadow Ridge Stallions will challenge the Chandler Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chandler took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shadow Ridge, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Shadow Ridge humbled Tolleson with a 65-36 victory. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 29 points or more this season.

Lindemann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Wilson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Chandler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to Casteel.

Despite the defeat, Chandler saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Justice Sims posted nine points and five rebounds.

Shadow Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Chandler, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Shadow Ridge took a serious blow against Chandler in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 53-26. Can Shadow Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
