Softball Recap: Red Lion Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Red Lion had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Cocalico Eagles as the Red Lion Lions made off with a 20-4 win.

Ella Honaker was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Honaker was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jayde Stuth was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Kennedy Fultz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Red Lion will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Manheim Township at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cocalico, they will head out on the road to challenge Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cocalico is coming into the contest on a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
