Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Pinson Valley Indians came up short against the Southwind Jaguars and fell 54-42. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Southwind got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Austen Price out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Price is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Ronald Towns was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Pinson Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Southwind, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinson Valley will challenge Clay-Chalkville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwind, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arlington at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
