Basketball Recap: Klawock Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Klawock and Akiuk Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Klawock had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 33-16 to the Akiuk Memorial Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 19th).

Klawock's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Akiuk Memorial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-6.

As of now, neither Klawock nor Akiuk Memorial have any future games scheduled.
