Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Lutheran Lions vs. Eugene Eagles

Calvary Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Eugene recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Calvary Lutheran Lions will challenge the Eugene Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Calvary Lutheran is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Tuesday, Calvary Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with Tuscumbia as they won 59-45. Given Calvary Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Tuscumbia is ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eugene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 61-36 to Crocker.

Calvary Lutheran's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Eugene, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Calvary Lutheran strolled past Eugene in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 57-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Lutheran since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
