Baseball Recap: Silverado Wins Going Away Against Desert Pines

Silverado got themselves on the board against Desert Pines on Wednesday, but Desert Pines never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jayden Orphan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Rhodus, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Silverado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are 11-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Silverado's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Pines, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Silverado will take on rival Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Skyhawks 4.1, the Mountain Lions 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Desert Pines is set to square off against their familiar foe Bonanza at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
