Football Recap: Mifflin County Huskies vs. Central Mountain Wildcats
Mifflin County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-6 win over the Central Mountain Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Fletcher Wilson and his top target Landon Haigh. Wilson threw for 159 yards and four touchdowns while Haigh picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Haigh's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.
Mifflin County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Cyrell Green picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mifflin County will challenge Northern York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Mountain, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they challenge Bloomsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
