Basketball Game Preview: Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors vs. Hickory Grove Christian Lions

After both having extra time off, the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors and the Hickory Grove Christian Lions will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

While Metrolina Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 68-56 win over Lee Park Prep last Friday.

Emily King continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 13 of 20 en route to 28 points along with five assists and five boards. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Carlson, who posted eight points in addition to 16 rebounds and four steals.

Metrolina Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Hickory Grove Christian two weeks ago. They came out on top against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy by a score of 29-19.

Metrolina Christian Academy better focus on containing Mackenzie Williams and Lauren Feaster as the pair were huge in Hickory Grove Christian's win. Williams had 14 points, while Feaster almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards.

Metrolina Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
