Preview: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. Carver Yellowjackets
After two games on the road, Leadership Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Carver Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, Leadership Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Triad Math and Science Academy on the road to the tune of 63-21.
Leadership Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Ryker, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Ryker hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Landon Burleyson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Carver unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Piedmont Classical 63-58.
Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 12-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Carver, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
