Softball Recap: Squalicum Storm vs. Oak Harbor Wildcats
Squalicum took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Oak Harbor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Storm won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 8-7. This was payback for the Storm, who suffered a 17-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Keisha McCloud was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. McCloud was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Squalicum got a massive performance out of Addy Hauber, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Hauber has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Laela Staniford, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
