Falls Lake won the last time they faced Northern Durham and things went their way on Friday too. The Falls Lake Firebirds walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Northern Durham Knights. With that win, the Firebirds brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Wynterlee Glenn made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Cash, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Horton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Falls Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Falls Lake back to even at 3-3. As for Northern Durham, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Lake will face off against Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roxboro Community's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Falls Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northern Durham, they will challenge Wake Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northern Durham has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
