Softball Game Preview: Windthorst Trojans vs. Iowa Park Hawks

The Windthorst Trojans will face off against the Iowa Park Hawks at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Windthorst: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Iowa Park has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Windthorst didn't have quite enough to beat Decatur and fell 7-5.

Kamdyn Neal was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karissa Fillingim, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Iowa Park got themselves on the board against Muenster on Thursday, but Muenster never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 10-0 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Iowa Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-1-1 record this season. Windthorst's loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Windthorst came up short against Iowa Park in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, falling 12-7. Can Windthorst avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
