            Football Recap: San Luis Obispo Tigers vs. Mt. Whitney Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
                                                         San Luis Obispo  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday. They walked away with  a   34-23  win over the Mt. Whitney Pioneers.
  Jace Gomes had a dynamite game for San Luis Obispo, rushing for 154 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was  Colbin Garrison, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.
 Garrison wasn't the only one working in the  rushing yards department: San Luis Obispo was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 285  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 166  rushing yards in 12 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Luis Obispo will host Mission Oak  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Mt. Whitney, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Morro Bay  at 7:30  p.m.
