Football Game Preview: Jesuit Crusaders vs. Tualatin Timberwolves

Two dominant backs in Luke Ortner and Cole Hachmeister are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Jesuit Crusaders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Tualatin Timberwolves. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tualatin will be up against a hot Jesuit squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Crusaders really took it to Sunset for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-8 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-0.

Jesuit got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Wilson out in front who rushed for 100 yards and one TD, and also threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes. Wilson's longest rush was for an incredible 97 yards. Phineas Shiely was another key rusher, rushing for 81 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 448 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Tualatin got themselves on the board against Tigard on Thursday, but Tigard never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 39-0. The Timberwolves haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Tualatin's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Jesuit came up short against Tualatin when the teams last played back in September, falling 13-7. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
