The Calvert Senecas will face off against the St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvert is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.

Calvert heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of Ayersville by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Senecas' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Calvert saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Central Catholic had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Lakota with a sharp 17-6 win on Tuesday. The Crimson Streaks not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 25-13).

Calvert moved to 20-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Calvert hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like St. Joseph Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
