Basketball Recap: Whiteoak Comes Up Short

Whiteoak suffered their biggest defeat since January 22, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 67-41 to the Lutheran East Falcons. The Wildcats have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Lutheran East was led to victory by Ja'Tayvea Caldwell and Diniah Moore. Caldwell posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Moore put up 13 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Janae Smith, who had four points and nine rebounds.

Whiteoak's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lutheran East, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Whiteoak will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Peebles at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Lutheran East, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-57 defeat against Warrensville Heights on the 6th.
