Nine defending state champions headed to Chick-fil-A Classic

Five-star big man will be in action at Chick-fil-A Classic.

The Chick-fil-A Classic is annually one of the top tournaments on the high school basketball calendar. The 2018 edition will be no different.

Slated for after Christmas for the first time in event history, the Classic will be held Dec. 26-29 at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, S.C.

Here's a complete look at the loaded field:


Carolina Challenge showcase participants: Blythewood (Blythewood, S.C.), Greenforest (Decatur, Ga.), Hartsville (Hartsville, S.C.), Lakeside (Evans, Ga.), Lower Richland (Hopkins, S.C.), Richland Northeast (Columbia, S.C.), United Faith Christian Academy (Charlotte, N.C.), Westwood (Blythewood, S.C.), York Prep (Rock Hill, S.C.)



The field will feature teams from 11 different states and nine defending state champions.

Top 15 prospects James Wiseman of Memphis East, Anthony Edwards of Holy Spirit, N'Faly Dante of Sunrise Christian, Brandon Boston of Norcross and Kyree Walker of Hillcrest Prep are among the headlining high-major prospects expected to participate.

Brackets and game schedules will be announced in November.
