Wyomissing had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Southern Columbia Area Tigers with a sharp 49-27 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Although Southern Columbia Area took the loss, they still got scores from Grady Garcia, Parker Persarchick, Gavin Brown, and Caden Hopper.

Wyomissing and Southern Columbia Area should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Spartans will challenge Haverford at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (49 vs. 129). Meanwhile, Southern Columbia Area (ranked 33rd) will meet Loyalsock Township (ranked 107th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
