Baseball Game Preview: Center Cougars vs. Nevada Union Miners

Center hasn't had much luck against Nevada Union recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Center Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Nevada Union Miners at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Center took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Liberty Ranch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Center never let Liberty Ranch get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. The Cougars' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Center's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jason Bergman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Nevada Union posted their closest win since April 11, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past Pleasant Valley 4-3.

Ty Malak made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Center's record now sits at 3-0. As for Nevada Union, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Center might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Nevada Union in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
